NQA (RO)
National Qualification Authority - NQA is a public institution with legal personality, under the coordination of the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport and has the following main tasks and activities:
- To propose to the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport and to the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection, elements of national policies and strategies, on the national qualification system
- To participate in developing plans or programmes of national interest on the national qualification system and continues training
- To develop, implement and update periodically the methodologies and the instruments for implementing the National Qualifications Framework
- To carry out and develop monitoring, assessment and control instruments for the National Qualifications Framework implementation process
- To ensure the correlation of the National Qualifications Framework with the European Qualification Framework and the comparability with other national frameworks
- To ensure the development and updating of the: National Qualifications Register, National Register of adult training providers and the National Register of competence assessors
- To coordinate and control the description of qualifications at national level and their registration with the National Qualifications Register
- To quality assure the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework by developing and applying the methodologies, standards and specific procedures together with interested institutions
- To coordinate the authorisation process for providers of adult training
- To accredit the competence assessment centres, evaluation bodies and certify the assessors
- To approve the establishment of sectoral committees (social partners)
- To support higher education institutions in organizing education and continuing professional development training
- To develop methodologies and procedures for assessment and the implementation rules
- To develop, together with the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport, the methodology for assessment and validation of learning outcomes acquired in non-formal and informal contexts;
- To develop, together with the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport, the methodology of transferable credits
- To publish manuals, good practice guides, synthesis in the field of qualifications and adult training
- To design and implement national or international programmes and projects so as to fulfil its tasks and to participate in programmes or projects funded from the EU Structural and Cohesion Funds
- To carry out activities related to transfer of knowledge, training, consultancy and technical assistance in the own field of activity.
