Nanomaterials are small particles that are found everywhere. From cosmetics and paints to food and drugs, we are all inevitably exposed to them. But what impact do nanomaterials have on our health and the environment? Dr Ernesto Alfaro-Moreno and a team of collaborators at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga, Portugal, are incorporating machine learning into their research with the goal of delivering fast and reliable toxicology assessment for a range of engineered nanomaterials.
