This research poster presents the iCARE project's comprehensive approach to safety testing of advanced materials throughout their complete life cycle. The work addresses critical gaps in transitioning from substance-based to product-based safety assessment by developing integrated neurotoxicity testing methods. Key contributions include establishing performance standards for representative sampling across use and end-of-life phases, adapting regulatory-relevant assays for materials characterization, and creating a predictive screening approach using human and fish cell lines plus invertebrate models to support hazard classification and Safe-by-Design implementation.
